FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Ozark, MO – The Christian County Commission is happy to announce some early progress on the Green Bridge replacement project. Earlier this fall, the County Highway Department presented three possible alignment scenario options at an open house and through a public survey. After gathering public input on the three possible scenarios, the choice presented as Option 1 has been selected.
The new bridge structure will be located just west of the current bridge with approaches on either end designed to form a gentle sweeping curve carrying drivers from one side of the river to the other.
This plan also includes a modification to the intersection of Hawkins Rd. and Greenbridge Rd. which creates an alignment intended to improve safety and visibility.
“We were very happy with the public input we’ve gotten on this project. Our engineering team at Great River and I have had an opportunity to gather valuable insights from nearby residents and engage in some very productive conversation”, said Christian County Highway Administrator Miranda Beadles. She went on to say, “I believe its important to remind our citizens that we are only at the beginning of an extensive project timeline.”
A project of this nature involves numerous steps such as right-of-way acquisition, structure design and construction which together can place an estimated completion date several years into the future.
