Employee of the Year Award
Our Employee of the Year for 2023 goes to the two gentlemen who established Christian County’s first IT Department. They have worked 24/7 to improve our IT systems, they’ve done this while facing many challenges. In July of 2023 these two gentlemen single handedly saved the County from its first attempted cyberattack. Throughout the year they have made many improvements and have created a roadmap for where we need to be in the next 5 years. They’ve done all this while answering over 1500 help tickets—all with a smile. Even with all the issues and difficult situations, these men have received the most nominations for Employee of the Quarter from their peers. We thank them for their continued dedication and service not only to the employees but also the citizens of Christian County.

Employee of the Quarter Award
Join me in congratulating our third Employee of the Quarter for 2024—Mark Thompson! Earlier this summer, Mark (C2 Road Barn) was mowing a road when he spotted a citizen having difficulty trimming a ditch in front of her home. He took the time to stop and mow it for her. Mark is receiving this award because he went above and beyond to help one of our citizens, making a lasting positive impact. We thank him for his service. Congratulations, Mark!
Recipients will be selected on, but not limited to, the criteria listed below
- Highly engaged and committed to the mission, vision and values of the County.
- A “can-do” attitude; goes the extra mile in giving to the County and doing their best.
- Functions in a spirit of partnership with other employees and with their citizens.
- Has a clear understanding of personal accountability and tends to look to themselves first for resources and solutions. Instead of placing blame, they fix problems.
- Embraces change and looks for ways to reinvent themselves while continuing to provide a high level of value to the organization.

This Award is used to recognize the efforts of those employees who go above and beyond—those who perform with a superior level of commitment, partnership, accountability, positive attitude, and ability to embrace change.
